SIC Kick off To A Head Start

The 2010 FIA Formula One World Championship Race kicks off this season, with a season opener's race to be held in Bahrain on 12th-14th March 2010.

As the world anxiously awaits in excitement for the return of the seven-time world champion, Michael Schumacher, reunited with Ross Brawn, being in Schuey's Career wins during Benetton and Ferrari's career days, aiming for another championship to be added to his belt crowned to be the 8-time World Formula One Champion in the constructor's defending champion Brawn GP, with a new title sponsor by PETRONAS known as the all-new Mercedes GP-PETRONAS F1 Team.

F1 Fans around the world will be a thrilled and entertained this year, as the battle for the F1 Championship gets tougher with a head to head competition between an all-german team lineup and an all-english team lineup, and new entrants like the Lotus F1 team, spanish's Campos Team lead by ex-formula one driver, Adrian Campos bringing Brazilian Bruno Senna into the F1 race this season.

Event organizer and promoter, Sepang International Circuit (SIC) and title sponsor PETRONAS also launched the "I Love F1" campaign here in Malaysia in a joint promotion at the Petronas Philharmonic Hall Foyer within the capital's leading shopping complex Suria KLCC. The campaign was launched by YB Datuk Ahmad Shabery Cheek, Minister of Youth and Sports, with YBhg Dato' Mokhzani Mahathir and Tun Dr. Mahatir Mohamad alongside him.

Malaysia will be hosting this year's Round 3 of the world championship at the Sepang International Circuit from 2nd to 4th April 2010.

This year's race at the Sepang International Circuit would have itself a change with the 12th edition starting at 1600hrs GMT +0800 instead of the 1700hrs GMT +0800 as it had last year. Prior to 2009, the Malaysian race had traditionally started at 1500hrs GMT +0800, but had been delayed to boost TV viewing in Europe.

"We will be expecting more spectators at the Sepang International Circuit, with the return of Michael Schumacher in an all-german team alongside Rosberg, up against button & hamilton in the all-english team. It will be a classic race this season.", Razlan Razali, SIC CEO.
